Having read the book which was a Christmas gift from my aunt in Scotland I was truly excited about the show.
We had front row seats (what a treat) and oh yes there were 3 bus loads of children from a school too so the theater was packed. As the show was for half past 12 I only had to wait 15 minutes or so before the actors and actress jumped on stage and down to the audience. They started to chat with the kids and I had one of them sing Happy Birthday to me. Her name was Sam -she was "6years old" and she was afraid of the dark. She carried a torchlight with her and sang twinkle, twinkle little star to calm down when it got dark. Her brothers Edward (8 years old )and George (7years old) had an idea to help Sam over come her fear by narrating the story of Plop.
My favorite character in that show was the old lady watering her garden. She not only waters her garden she waters the audience too. My mom and I got sprayed too. I loved the songs too my favorite was the one Plop sang with the old lady.
The entire show was an hour long and there were many funny bits too. In the end Sam realize she too was not afraid of the dark anymore just like Plop.
I will recommend this show to my friends the next time they are in town although they say it is for children ages 4-7.
The old lady with Plop.
